Dates are subject to change due to weather or time that they finish shooting and the amount of turnaround required for the cast and crew. We apologize for the inconvenience but it is a required part of the job.
You will be contacted by your agent or a member of the production or casting team the evening before with a shooting location, time and any other instructions necessary.
We won’t know how long you’ll be on set as we are dependent on the weather and other factors, so please plan to be there all day. It is very important that you confirm your availability whenever you are contacted. If we don’t hear back from you we will need to find a replacement. Please make sure that you keep your phone on and that you always check your messages and emails.
Children under 17 must have a parent/guardian with them on set at all times.
It is very important that nothing about the film be put on Social Media by ANYONE associated with the shoot. The taking of pictures or personal videos is not permitted without approval from your AD. Once we finish shooting our Social Media company will be launching a world wide campaign on various platforms leading up to the film’s release.
Please bring snacks, water bottle and items to keep you warm and comfortable (books, iPads, blankets, etc.) when you are not shooting. You may or may not be provided with a meal. This depends on the number of hours worked, etc. Normally cast and crew must work six hours or longer to qualify for meal provision, so bring a sandwich, thermos of soup, etc. just in case.
To get to set, follow the map(s) and information provided. Watch for any large signs with arrows posted and park where indicated for “crew parking”. Make your way to the location you have been given. If there is no-one there, stay nearby as they will be right back.
Please make sure you have reviewed your wardrobe requirements and if possible bring two or three selections to choose from! Travel is not included.
Rate of pay for background work will range between $12/hour up to $23/hour, depending on union qualifications and requirements. Bring your identification, including your SIN # , so we can pay you!
When working, be aware of your surroundings. Watch out for people working, cameras, cables, etc.
When the camera’s rolling, we ask everyone to stay quiet until “cut” is called. This includes no whispering, moving around, or making noise. Please make sure electronic devices are switched off during roll. Wireless signals can cause issues with our sound recording.
When you need to use the restroom, you must notify a Casting Agent, Production Assistant (P.A). or an Assistant Director (A.D.) before leaving the holding area or set.
